Records – Food Safety Plan

There are two types of records that should be kept for a food safety system: one type for the Food Safety Plan itself and the other type for implementation activities.

Remember, the food safety plan is a guide on how to identify hazards that can cause illness or injury. The plan tells you what can be done to prevent these problems from happening in your facility or causing an outbreak. Following these guidelines will protect the public health and your company from the risk of a recall or other regulatory action. For a new product your food safety plan should be completed before production starts.

The Food Safety Plan records include:

  • Hazard Analysis form
  • Process Preventative Controls form
  • Allergen Preventative Controls form
  • Sanitation Preventative Controls form
  • Supply-chain Preventative Controls form
  • Recall plan (design your own)
  • Monitoring procedures (template)
  • Corrective action procedures (template)
  • Verification procedures (design your own)
